Student Course in Barbering (1000 Clock Hours)

Theory of Barbering (Classroom) and the teaching is done through lecture and textbook reading in a formal classroom setting. All of the Theory of Barbering (Classroom) material is taken from Standard Textbooks assigned by the California Board of Barbering.

Barber Crossover 200 hrs (For Cosmetologist)

The subject of Preparation and Performance shall include, but is not limited to the following techniques and procedures: Preparing the client’s hair for shaving, assessing the condition of the client’s skin, performing shaving techniques, applying after-shave antiseptic following facial services, massaging the client’s face, rolling cream massages.

Urban Barber College Schedules*

The school schedules for Full Time are:

  • 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday (35 hours week)
  • Full-time students are required to attend 35 hours weekly depending on the chosen schedule.
    • *All Schedules Subject to change

The school schedules for Part Time are

  • 5:00pm – 10:00pm Monday – Friday (25 hours week)
  • 9:00am – 8:00pm Saturday – Sunday, Monday 5:00pm - 10:00pm (25 hours week)
  • Concord class sessions are conducted at 1809 Willow Pass Rd Concord, Ca 94520 and San Jose sessions are conducted at 311 N. Capitol Ave Unit #i San Jose, Ca 95133.
